MCS Compliance Services The purpose of the new HIPAA regulations is to achieve administrative simplification and to protect the privacy of individual heath information. HIPAA regulates the format and content of electronic health care transactions exchanged among health care organizations. This creates a single national standard for recording and communicating health care information. Security and privacy regulations ensure that individual health information is available to the providers and care systems that need it and at the same time protected from prohibited disclosures to individuals and entities. MCS has put in place the standards, security and privacy practices to achieve internal HIPAA compliance. MCS can assist you in understanding HIPAA regulations and help you update your policies, procedures, agreements and training for compliance with the new HIPAA regulations. The documents and links below are intended to give employers the information they need to comply with the new HIPAA regulations. |
